Eirlys Stephens, sixty-five, on the brink of divorce and fed up with her selfish family, decides to spend Christmas on a residential creative writing course near the Irish Sea. The residence is Savernake House, once lived in by Ifo Aveni, an artist christened ‘the most evil man in Wales’.
